Halo 3 Free Trial

The release of Halo 3 was wildly anticipated, as the game was the third in the original trilogy of the Halo games. As a result, the Halo 3 trial download was one of the most downloaded game demos in the history of the Xbox 360. What many people don’t remember is that the Halo 3 trial download helped make another game – Crackdown.

What does the Halo 3 demo download have to do with any another video game? Well, it has a great deal to do with the sale and promotional work for a game that was originally meant for release on the Xbox system. Microsoft had become worried that Crackdown wouldn’t sell a lot.

So they used a marketing tactic, the one of bundling Crackdown with an access code for the Halo 3 trial download. And it worked because Crackdown sold 1.5 million copies within the first six months of its release. Those aren’t Halo 3 numbers, which sold 8.1 million units in slightly over a year, but for a lesser well-known game that’s terrific.

Microsoft had resorted to the Halo 3 trial download tactic because of adverse reports about the game from the play testers. They thought the nonlinear nature of the game off-putting, often leaving them wondering what they were supposed to be doing next.

As a result of this, the powers that be thought that something had to be done or the game would be a dud. It may appear shady practice at first to try to push sales of a game that’s expected to be unpopular, but in hindsight people like the game and it was a good thing that they were able to get the chance to play it.

In Crackdown, and that includes the one bundled with the Halo 3 free download, individuals play the role of an agent who is assigned to beat the kingpins or leaders of various gangs. To do this they make use of various superhuman powers such as super strength and super fitness. In order to gain these powers, players have to accumulate experience by beating enemies who then release experience orbs. The interesting idea in the system was that the kind of orbs released depended on the method in which the agent killed the enemy. For example, a firearms orb appears if the enemy was killed with a gun.

So, although at first sight this video bundled with the Halo 3 trail download appears to be nothing but a veiled marketing trick, in reality, it exposed gamers to a fascinating new gameplay experience.

When Was Halo 3 Released?

On May 15, 2007 the news was published ” the Halo 3 release date would be September 25 in North America and the 26th in Europe. Halo 3 marked the third in a very popular series for the Xbox 360 called Halo. According to the vice president of Microsoft’s interactive entertainment business, Halo 3’s release was more than just a video game release, it was the biggest media event of the year. He may just have been right.

The full history of Halo 3 actually has to begin with the publication of the first game in the series ‘Halo: Combat Evolved’. In November, 2001, when Halo was first published, game consoles were something of a joke as one-person shoot-em-up games. Sure, some games existed, but they didn’t have the popular communities that the PC games in the genre had.

That was all changed in Halo, in which players could battle aliens on foot and in vehicles, in order to complete objectives, while trying to uncover the secret of the Halo. Halo pioneered limiting the number of weapons a player could carry to two, which in turn, meant forcing the player to take strategic decisions in order to complete his missions.

People waited for the Halo 3 release with baited breath. They awaited the continuation of the one-person, shoot-em-up combat format that had been prevalent in the previous two versions of Halo. Microsoft calls it the ‘Golden Triangle of Halo’, which consists of gun-type weapons, grenades and others. In reality, this was nothing new to one-person, shoot-em-up games, as it had existed since the very first Doom and even the precursor to that game, Wolfenstein.

So, with all of that previous history, people were full of excitement about the Halo 3 release date. How popular and welcome was the game? Well, before its release, 3.1 million copies were sold in advance orders and retailers thought that that was not enough.

The game took over $300 million gross in the United States in only the first seven days. Overall, it has sold over nine million copies worldwide and was the best-selling video game in the USA in 2007. Even the critics loved it, putting it the seventh highest on the list of Xbox 360 all-time great games.

The Halo 3 release date, like the release date of many widely popular video games was almost like a holiday like Christmas or Easter. It leaves us with the question of what will happen with video games in the future?

Halo 3: The Spectacle

The other day, while looking through the Internet for details on the Halo 3 weapons cheats, I came across a number of what-if scenarios? What if Master Chief fought different famous characters from movies, comic books, and legends? Here follows a list of some of these battles and my take on the result.

While it is technically not a Halo 3 weapon cheat, the match-up of Master Chief versus Robocop would be interesting. According to the information on the Internet both have several similarities. They’re both human, they’ve both been enhanced, they both have amazing armour and they are both veteran fighters. Most voters thought that Master Chief would beat Robocop, but let’s be honest here, Master Chief can be defeated with a hand-gun, whereas Robocop was still going after being blown up at a petrol station. The victor has to be Robocop.

When Master Chief battles with the next combatant he would do well to have a Halo 3 weapon cheat. The next is MacGyver. Master Chief has a lot of advantages. He is proficient with a number of weapons; he has that fantastic armour; he has some incredible vehicles at his disposal; he’s a Clint Eastwood type loner and he can regenerate himself. However, in short, MacGyver is brain over brawn. It would probably boil down to the same considerations in a fight between Batman and Superman. If it’s a closed arena where it’s man versus man, Master Chief will win. But put this battle in the real world with Swiss army knives and plastic tape at his disposal, and MacGyver’s going to murder our futuristic pal.

Up until now Master Chief is 2-0 down, it’s beginning to look like he can really use a Halo 3 weapon cheat. But we’ll give him another chance. This time it’s Master Chief versus Terminator. We already know Master Chief’s powers, the Terminator’s consist of an ability to master any weapon, relentless willpower, doesn’t get tired, amazing detrermination to destroy his prey. It all boils down to the Spartan laser weapon. As one voter said, if Master Chief can destroy vehicles with this weapon he can certainly put a sizeable hole in the Terminator too.

Let’s have one more contest before Master Chief finds his Halo 3 weapon cheat. What can he do against Boba Fett from Star Wars? The only differences between Master Chief and Boba Fett are that Boba has no shields, owns his own ship and has a jet pack.

Many people believe Star Wars wins this battle, but Master Chief’s weapons are far more powerful than those owned by the bounty hunter. This one makes it even at 2-2. Master Chief is 50-50.

So, those are the results of the survey – the people have spoken. In this small poll that we found on the Internet, Master Chief is your average sort of super hero, who is not sure to win every single fight, unless he finds his weapon cheats or the story writers want him to, that is.

Halo 3: Screenshots

When a video game series is as widely popular as the Halo series, which includes Halo 3, of course, then it’s bound to result in there being many screenshots takes. This article focuses on some of the weird and wild Halo 3 screenshots.

Before getting on to the Halo 3 screenshots specifically, let’s take a look at the figures that generate all of this media. Over 9 million copies of Halo 3 have been sold to date. That means that if each person who bought the game plays for only 10 hours, there are more than 90 million hours of game time from which to make screen shots. A lot can happen in 90 million hours, and with all the picture-uploading websites available to people, a lot of it has been documented.

One of the things in Halo 3 that has frequently been copied in Halo 3 screenshots is what Master Chief looks like or more specifically, what his face looks like. If you use Google to find the top 10 Halo 3 screenshots, you’ll find a picture of Master Chief lying dead on the ground, clearly not revealing a face inside his helmet. This explains why we never see his face, say many players, because he does not actually have one.

Another of the Halo 3 screenshots featuring in the top 10 Halo 3 screenshots is that of a Marine getting hammered on a floodgate. Someone commented that it looks a lot like Han Solo when he was frozen in Carbonite. And guess what? – they’re absolutely correct.

The designers of Halo 3 decided to make it a lot simpler for players to take Halo 3 screenshots and to post them all over the Internet. In order to accomplish this, they created a ‘Saved Films’ feature in the video game. This feature allows people to slow down the action, or even to freeze it, change the camera position and even move the camera around to get exactly the screenshot they want to have. Generally speaking, the ‘Save Films’ feature records all the action that takes place in the game, so it can later be turned into videos are screenshots.

Another feature that has a little bit to do with Halo 3 screenshots in the ‘Save Films’ feature, is the viewing of previously saved films. You see, the saves are not just images or video, they’re real game data. This means two things: 1] the file size is very small and 2] the entire game can be watched from different angles on the Xbox 360.

This means to say that a player could watch a game again and again, finding new things in new places every time they watch it. That’s a great deal better than plain Halo 3 screenshots.

Halo 3 Mod

A Halo 3 mod is usually thought of as any software modification that changes the game play in the very popular video game for the Xbox 360, Halo 3. But the term also includes many other modifications, such as physical changes made to the Xbox 360 console to show the world that you are a hard-core Halo fanatic.

However, before someone can create a Halo 3 mod, they must have the proper tools, together with some technical knowledge. These tools generally include a number of bits of software that allow people to de-construct, edit, and reconstruct Halo 3 files. It would also include some hardware to permit the Xbox 360 hard drive to be read into a PC and the files to be restored to that hard drive.

You have to do it this way, because the Xbox 360 is not a unit on which files can be modified. In the past, the hardware developers, in this case Microsoft, made the tools available to people who paid the licensing fee. But as time passed, especially with Halo 3 mods, the public created several tools and techniques to accomplish what has to be done for modification.

A Halo 3 mod also encompasses, as stated earlier, physical alterations to the Xbox 360 console itself. For instance, some people might take off the case and actually carve the words ‘Halo 3′ into it. They might also compliment this by painting the console red, blue or green to match the colour of the armour of the heroes in the game.

However, it’s a rather extreme way to say to the world – I love Halo 3 – because it could cause actual damage that renders the Xbox 360 unplayable. People often display their altered Xbox 360s on photo-sharing sites such as Flickr and when they go toattend live LAN events.

One of the things that people who are interested in the world of the Halo 3 mod try to focus on is that these should not be used for the purpose of cheating. Modifications are fun to get a new twist on Halo 3 play or a new look for certain levels. But if they’re used to make the game easier for one person or team, they ruin the general game for everyone.

One website where a person can find many a Halo 3 mod is H3mod.com. The site calls itself the ‘future of Halo modding’. It seems like a good place to begin if you really want to learn about a Halo 3 mod.
